Set-up of the Technical Assistance Facility
The TA Facility is sponsored by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and the UK’s Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ). It regularly receives a share of GCPF’s net profit, but operates separately from GCPF and is overseen by an independent Technical Assistance Committee.
Technical Assistance services are supplied by local third-party providers who are selected through a tender process in accordance with international best practice. A dedicated Technical Assistance team ensures that projects are managed professionally.
Technical Assistance Facility services
- provides specialist advice to local financial institutions looking to launch sustainable energy products,
- helps partner institutions to improve their environmental and social management systems (ESMS), and
- provides support to make potential direct investments in the clean energy area investable
